I am an incarnated nature photographer.
My passion is the photographic possibilities in the changing Nordic light, and the wild Nordic nature.

The gallery is a display window for a selection of my work.

The pictures in the gallery are all taken with DSL cameras equipped with high quality lenses.
As pixels cannot replace optical quality, it is an attempt to take advantage of the full sensor format.

What is "PHOTOGRAPHY"?
Photography is like painting, creation of pictures, but still different.
The painter is working on filling out the picture, where I am working on limiting the contents of the picture.
The painter is working over time. I catch the unique moment.

What is "NATURE PHOTO"?
Nature photo is for me, catching moments of nature wildlife.
Photography is in its nature a subset, and therefore an interpretation of reality.
I create the picture in the viewfinder, the picture which is my artistic interpretation of reality.
I do not create biologic registrations, but making serious efforts to catch the atmosphere and the
environment in the wild nature I am in.

What is "NATURE PHOTO AND ETHICS"?
Nature photo must never cause an impact on the environment.
Better do without a picture, than to risk disturbing the living condition of natures living beings.
The human race has caused enough damage to the order of nature already.
In practice that means, having a presence in harmony with nature and its beings,
and basically try to avoid animal breeding areas.

What is my TOOLS?
My tools are the light in nature, photographic handcraft, my creativity and my lenses.
I prefer prime lenses as it demands that I move and zoom with my feet,
to take full advance of the sensor format and the lenses.

I do not manipulate pictures beyond what the photographic handcraft made possible in the exposure.
Nature has plenty of sceneries, exciting light phenomenons and experiences, so my manipulation is
"to see" and be in the right place at the right time.

What is "JOY OFF PHOTO"
Joy off photo is for me catching the unique moment, in a creative play with the light and contrast in the wild nature.
Nature photo satisfy my joy in being in the wild nature, my hunting instinct, and my joy in artistic picture creation.

What is THE PERFECT PICTURE?
The perfect picture is the picture which gives you energy to make another picture.
The perfect picture is capable of expressing atmospheres and experiences.
Since the perfect must be found in the imperfect.
